Table tennis and ATTP

Table tennis and ATTP.

Playing table tennis teaches us that the game is not an end, but a means. In performance sports - a means of competition and identification of the strongest, at the amateur level - a means of obtaining satisfaction and an opportunity to communicate with other good and respectable people.

If ATTP gives the opportunity to at least one person to find his place in this sport, then we can say with certainty that ATTP was not created in vain.

However, here we should make a small digression before saying what kind of medium the game of table tennis is.

When last summer our boys participated in the open competitions in Albena (Bulgaria) and simply "grounded" everyone there, we experienced indescribable feelings of pride and joy for our athletes and for the entire Moldovan sport in general. He is not as hopeless as our enemies want him to be.

However, it is sad to admit that apart from the results of our well-known veterans and legionnaires, we have not had much to cheer about in terms of the performance of our young athletes in international tournaments in recent years.

We have to give this example because it is too relevant and current.

The point here is not just resentment towards the country and the Federation. It is a matter of choice. In the choice that parents make for their children, that mentors and coaches make in relation to their students, as well as in the choice of young people themselves - what kind of sport to play. But here, without a good reputation, optimal conditions and attractiveness we cannot discuss a certain successful future of this kind of sport like table tennis.

Attracting young people to table tennis is one of the main objectives of ATTP.

As the circumstances and everyday reality show, many of our talented young people (such as Sofia Polcanova, Andrei Putuntica, Vlad Ursu, Evghenii Dadechin...), passionate about table tennis, have not remained in the past at all, purely simply, many often avoid noticing them, especially if they come from less wealthy families. However, it is not so important whether these young athletes will become champions in the future, how important it is that they become happy, life-loving and honest people.

As for the purpose of the "Federation", since I already mentioned it... One of ATTP's purposes is to protect the interests of table tennis players, wherever they are, whatever their age and whatever their experience their game. By showing attention and care to seniors and veterans, we set a good example for the younger generation, teaching them mutual respect and assistance, team spirit and trust.

ATTP is the opportunity to unite all Moldovan table tennis players in a real strength and a healthy sports community.

Thank you all and good luck!
