ATTP at the Start of a Grand Project - ACT RISE

 

The project “Romania – Republic of Moldova ACT!” is an extraordinary initiative promoting sport for all, officially launched on March 25.

This unique project, approved by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program, aims to strengthen cooperation between sports organizations from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and other countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Ukraine. Its goal is to implement initiatives that encourage active participation in sport, especially among young people and vulnerable groups.

The project presents a unique development opportunity for the sports sector, fostering international cooperation, social inclusion, and equal access to sports activities. It includes several initiatives designed to promote inclusive and accessible physical activity for all, such as:

• Development of grassroots sports – creating and promoting sports programs accessible to all social categories;

• Inclusion and diversity in sport – supporting the participation of persons with disabilities, minorities, and disadvantaged groups in sports activities;

• Mobility for coaches and athletes – exchange programs and professional training for sports specialists;

• International sports events – competitions and activities that promote inter-state collaboration and an active lifestyle.

Within this project, ATTP has committed to several core principles essential for the success and sustainability of ACT RISE, including:

1. Promoting table tennis among young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and integrating people with disabilities into sports activities.

2. Active community involvement – collaborating with schools, local authorities, NGOs, and other relevant institutions to gain support and valuable feedback.

3. Accessibility for all, regardless of age, gender, social status, or physical ability – promoting inclusion and encouraging the active participation of everyone.

4. Sustainability – identifying long-term funding sources and partnerships.

5. Promoting education and positive values, using sport as an excellent vehicle for transmitting key values such as teamwork, mutual respect, perseverance, and discipline. Education through sport is a fundamental component of any successful social project.

ACT RISE is more than a program – it’s a movement toward a more inclusive, active, and united future through sport.
